I also should mention that the clone was from another macBook that I'm trying to install in my new MacBook Pro (i7 quad).
We're beyond Winclone now it would seem.
Which Macbook was it that you took the image from? Windows doesn't usually like being relocated to new hardware (without SYSPREP) but when the machines are similar enough you might be able to get away with it.

thank you for replying! but i think im doing it wrong. i tried to follow the link you had but its not working for me. can you please help walk me through it or anyone else who wants to help me? i started up my mac with the mac os x dvd and went to the disk utility but my bootcamp partition wasnt allowing me to repair it ( grayed out options ).

Thank you so much! I've been searching everywhere and wasn't able to find a concrete answer. That just makes AppleCare even more of a no-brainer!
I'm in the same boat - the nearest Apple Store is over an hour away. Luckily we have two stores near here - Mactown and MacDepot. You don't even have to call Apple first - you can just take it in. A friend of mine near here had her power adapter fry her Macsafe board inside her Macbook. Took it to Mactown, and the next day the board and the adapter were both replaced no charge. Saw the repair invoice that they were billing Apple for and it was over $600. Definitely paid off. :D

4 pin = 400 FW no power - used on DV video cameras

9 pin = 800 FW with power
The great thing about firewire... no processor power is used, unlike USB that uses the processor.I've always heard the 6pin variant referred to as FW600 while FW400 was reserved only for the mini 4pin which doesn't have power. I realize it may not be technically correct but it's always allowed easier differentiation between the two connectors.

i spilled vine in mine and took everything apart and dipped in alcohol 95% or more(motherboard and keyboard and fan) and cleaned it with a toothbrush ,let it dry and put it back, is been 4 months now and everything works fine.

You would need quantum-core infinite RAM with turbo powered processors, enough to power the sun.

As I said I am not the most tech savvy guy in the world and sometimes it's frustrating (as a creative professional) to try and learn the tech side of things on top of having to master FCP,AE,PS,C4D,AI, etc etc.
The flip side of course, is tech geniuses have to put up with my amateurish questions. Heh.

Apologies, the site is my own and is written in ASP. so no blogging etc, essentially something that will allow me to edit HTML page but with the ability to FTP download and reupload
