Hello.
I have a question are imacs and Macbooks good for gaming, as my friends say they are complete rubbish and I should just buy a gaming PC?

His point is that it doesn't matter who is right and who is wrong, or what is or isn't legal. What matters is who can maintain a long strung-out legal battle (Sony) and who can't (the average person).
And who will Apple drag into a 'long strung-out legal battle'?

I don't feel like old School. I joined last october, so I missed all of the historic stuff.
What do you guys consider old School.
I consider it members that joined spring 2002 or earlier

Thanks, vniow! It does sound like I'd be able to swing a PC card and a wireless router for a few hundred bucks extra.
Just curious: does the built-in AirPort card automatically disable itself or something when you plug in one of these third-party cards?

Picked up a new 2011 iMac today and had the same thing, isolate the imac from the desk and it will go.

I've made up my mind on the basic 13" pro. I was going to buy it on June 5th, but I don't really think I should do that now. If possible I would like to get the machine with Lion installed already. Should I wait for WWDC? Its 4 days long so I guess I could wait it out, but would they release it the day of announcement, or would it be in a couple of weeks afterwards? I know this is all speculation, but I appreciate you input
Thanks :)
I've heard that if you buy a laptop with snow leopard now you won't ever be able to upgrade to lion.
I think you should wait for whatever comes after Lion... nobody wants to have old technology!
That's what I thought, if waiting a week or two can save me a couple of bucks, then its worth the wait.
a week or two? If lion is released in a week or two anyone who bought a computer will get a free upgrade, no sense in waiting for nothing.
Thanks :)

people aren't answering you because you should just do what the other person suggested. stop being stubborn and take it into apple care
There could be other reasons its only working after a restart... That's why I was looking for another answer besides one reply...
So unless you have no input be on your way..
What if I needed my computer and couldn't have it gone for a week for some ****** superdrive...
It's pretty pathetic I pay 1000+ for this Macbook, and a month later the cheap ass cd drive fails.

Meh, my experiences at Springboard haven't been amazing, the people aren't always incredibly friendly. I think I'm going to Ardmore.
Really? I think they're great. I've had much better service with them compared to the Apple stores, hands down.

Looks like Apple made it clear to me what size iPad they want me to buy. :)
What does that mean? Is there a larger one or something coming out? Spill the beans, don't be secretive and cryptic.

The "right" amount is a bit subjective. WinXP requires 1.5GB of space, but you'll also need room for additional hardware drivers, room for temporary space/virtual memory, and room for games. You'll need to consider how much space your games will need. On my 500GB HDD, I partitioned off 100GB. It's not nearly enough for all the games in my library, but it allows me to have several of them installed while running Win 7.
However, I don't think there's a right answer that anyone other than you can provide. Also, read the Bootcamp message and make sure it supports WinXP. I know the 2011 MBPs do not.
Is there an echo in here? :)
Good point about no official support for XP on current Macs--Win 7 only, if I'm not mistaken. Though, if you google around, it seems possible to get most things working. Would be a little easier, I think, on a desktop than a laptop.
Happy computing.

hi,
I'm having trouble with vertical distance in GoLive.
eg: my home page.
I want to have a certain distance between various headings and sections of www.eclispenow.org but really can't seem to get the "box" tool working properly. Any ideas for guaranteeing vertical distance... without getting into html? (Html scares me at this stage.)

I have an Emac that turns on, but doesn't start properly; the screen stays black and the fan is working. It used to beep/flash a light a couple of times to indicate what was wrong (unfortunately I don't remember how many times, but sort of remember looking up what it meant - I think it was a motherboard or CPU issue), but the beeping/flashing and chiming stopped.
Has anyone dealt with a similar issue and what was wrong with your Emac?

I don't see much of a similarity. It's branded as Windows, and you can tell by the ugly colours and UI treatments. Granted, to me it looks a lot more confusing than the App Store, but it's still a basic layout styled for Windows.
The truth is, there aren't a whole lot of different ways to put content on a page and have it organized.

If you want a true fresh state, use the Software Installation and Restore media that came with your system. See Apple Knowledge Base article #42929 (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=42929) and if you have DVDs, the process for either of the PowerBooks should be the same as for your MacMini.
This is easier than trying to figure out what you need to delete.
