My I140 was filed 10/01/2007 and it got approved Jun 4th,2008 I think the processing dates are little misleading.

Now a days VFS is not releasing appointment dates more than 2 - 2.5 weeks in advance. I am not aware of any specific time of the day when these become available.

Goto ASC and talk with them and explain the situation. Sometimes they will take the fingerprints, without the fingerprint receipt. Try your luck there.

There should be a option to modify the the Application. I guess you can't modify PassportNo, Name etc.. But you can modify education details.

Hi
We (my wife and I) applied for our EAD renewals. I got email 2 days back saying 'Card production ordered', but did not get a similar mail for my wife.
Is it normal to have applicant and dependent's timings for approvals on different dates? I was thikinkg that since we applied on the same date, and since my case is renewed, my wife's should also be renewed at the same time. Can I wait more or is this something a cause of concern?
Any suggestions please

This might be little bit old, but I dont remember seeing a post on this. Employment-based immigrant visa fees almost doubled, Old fees $ 355, new fees $ 720 from July 13th. Does this mean USCIS will open the gates in Sept bulletin [to be released in August]?

Does anyone know any good lawyers in the Northern Virginia/Maryland area ? I've had some bad experiences so I would welcome any recommendations. Please let me know how much they charge for the entire green card process. I appreciate your assistance.

USCIS has updated the H-1B cap count. (http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.5af9bb95919f35e66f614176543f6d1a/?vgnextoid=138b6138f898d010VgnVCM10000048f3d6a1RCR D&vgnextchannel=91919c7755cb9010VgnVCM10000045f3d6a1 RCRD) As of December 8, CIS has received approximately 61,500 cases against the regular (non-Master's) H-1B cap of 65,000. However, since CIS sets aside up to 6,500 of this 65,000 for nationals of Chile and Singapore, it is possible that they will stop accepting other H-1B petitions soon, if not already. We are still filing new petitions, but with fingers crossed that they are not too late. If you need to file, please do so ASAP.

Doesn't matter if you only live in AZ or not! If you live in the Border Areas (North and South), or are traveling in those areas, it is better you carry it.
I never carry mine and do not intend to unless fit I the above case. I have memorized my A# and that of my spouse and am willing to go thro' to whatever rare hassle that I may face than losing my wallet and having to replace my GC for $370! Futher I do not want identity thieves getting another piece of info about me.

My parents will be visiting us here soon, and when they return, we want to see if we can send kids to India (2 and 5yrs). Kids have never been to India, and I would like to know which is a better option and why. Greatly appreciate your advice.
